


In 1928, using Ford tri-motors, Pan American Airways flew from Key West to Havana. The $50 one way fare was steep for the time, yet more than 1,100 tickets were sold the first year.
On this 1929 Pan-Am baggage sticker, a stylish couple sets off for a Caribbean island holiday. During Prohibition era in the United States, many wealthy and thirsty Americans were attracted to the freewheeling island resorts shown on the map.
